Family Home and Life: How to be a Good Grandparent Host to Your ...

Going to Grandma and Grandpa?s house is a highlight for most grandchildren. If you are fairly new to grand parenting and want to make sure your time with your special little?loved ones, your grandchildren, is the best it can be then you need to do a few things. I?ve put together a list that has been a huge success for us.

????????? First, you need to equip your home with not only child friendly furnishings but you should?also have a variety of toys and games in each room of your home, because no room will be off limits. Each room should contain at a minimum one wall dedicated to these items. It could look something like this:

????????? Keep your pantry filled with tasty snacks and treats. All of them individually wrapped, containing ingredients you have never heard of and some form of disguised sugar product.

???????? Be sure to watch all the latest kid shows and movies and browse the toy stores so you will be able to understand what they are talking about.

????????? You might want to pre order a take out meal?for?dinner that day, and see if they deliver because you may not be able to make yourself a meal due to exhaustion or even remember you are hungry once they leave.

?????????Be sure to get a good night?s sleep before the big day because you will need your energy. It might be a good idea to have an extra cup of coffee too, caffeinated of course.

Once your grand children have gone, you may be wondering if they enjoyed themselves, and if you were a good grandparent host. There are a couple of things to look for so that you will know if you were successful.

There should be multiple marks on your walls and doors that look like this: The floor of the crafting area may look like this: There should be paper hanging all over your house that looks like this: Outside if you have provided a play space, it could look like this: The play room should you be so fortunate to have one to offer to your grand kids could look something like this once they have left:

If you can answer "yes I see that" to at least?four of the five things listed above once your sweet little cutie pies have left, it's safe to say you were a good grandparent host and provided your second generation off spring with a very good play date.
